Over the last decade, I have worked to intentionally build relationships with citizens throughout the county. This has been important to me, not only because of my work as a Deputy, but also because I believe it is our responsibility, as humans, to take care of our neighbors, friends, and fellow citizens. Everyone has the right to a safe and healthy community.
I am a founding member of Frontlines United Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to reunite active duty military, veterans, and first responder communities. I am a current member of the Tama County Board of Health. The knowledge and skills I have gained from my experience with these two organizations undoubtedly strengthen my ability to lead effectively as Sheriff of Tama County.
Throughout my time in Tama County, I have worked on a wide variety of cases: narcotics, violent crime, sexual crimes, domestic violence, car accidents, and many more. Working countless hours for victims of crime has developed in me a stronger passion for holding the perpetrators of crimes responsible for their actions. In the current day of seemingly endless rights for criminals, I stand with and will always support victims and their families.
